St. Johns Wort is known for its antiseptic and analgesic properties that help heal and relieve the pain associated with burns, sores, cramps, and wounds. It makes an excellent salve or cream, as it has antibacterial and astringent properties.
Because this herb is known to reduce the effectiveness of a number of medications, consult your physician before using St. John’s wort. Do not use in conjunction with benzodiazepines or other psychotropic medications.
