Chickweed, also known as Starweed or Star Chickweed, is a great herb for use in salves, ointments, and poultices. When used on the skin, it may help cool and soothe burns, minor rashes, and skin irritations. Its anti-inflammatory properties may even help relieve joint and muscle pain.
Active Compounds: High concentrations of flavonoids and vitamins are likely responsible for the beneficial effects. Contains vitamin C, flavonoids, triterpenoid saponins, carboxylic acids, and coumarins.
